With seven teams headed to the Silver State with aspirations of winning gold, Team Pennsylvania is locked in and ready to compete at the 2021 Kings of Vegas tournament in just under a week’s time in Las Vegas, Nevada. Due to the effects of the pandemic, the annual BRICK Tournament was not able to be held this year but teams from the United States have decided to hold an event in Las Vegas to compete this summer.

After posting a strong 6-4 record in games this spring, The 2010 Team PA squad will look to start the tournament on a high note with a matchup against the Detroit Jr. Red Wings, whom they beat twice in spring matchups. This opening game will take place on Tuesday, July 6th at 6:30 PM PT. The following day, Team PA will have a double header, starting with a matchup against the Chicago Jr. Blackhawks at 9:30 AM and then a matinee meeting with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers at 2:00 PM. The next day, an early game with the Junior Bruins awaits at 9:30 AM to close out the preliminary round.

It will be an action-packed schedule and a great chance for the 2010 team to show what they can do against some of the best teams in the country. “The team has come together nicely over the spring season,” commented head coach Trevor Edwards. “As it's gone along, we have learned to play on the right side of the puck more, which in turn is creating more transition offense which is definitely our strength. This is definitely one of the stronger Team PA squads we have assembled in my time here, with a deep forward group, mobile defenders with skill and size and very strong goaltending.  While we are disappointed not to be in Edmonton right now, the kids are really looking forward to the challenge of taking on the US Brick Teams in Vegas!"

The 2010s won’t be the only team representing the Keystone State in Las Vegas. The 2011 Team Pennsylvania Pre-Brick team will also be competing against teams in their age group in the Kings of Vegas tournament along with 10 teams including 7 Pre-Brick teams. The team has enjoyed a strong spring so far with a record of 6-3-2 overall and a runner up finish at the Chicago Brick Showcase!

"The 2011's have shown a lot of promise this spring with some high character come-from-behind efforts against some very good teams,’ said coach Trevor Edwards. “The team has excellent offensive abilities and has been getting solid efforts from the backend and goaltending. It will be a real good test and solid evaluation for the staff in Vegas as we look to hopefully returning to the Mall in Edmonton Alberta with this birth year in 2022."

Good luck to Team Pennsylvania in Vegas! Be sure to follow along on social media all tournament long!
